Job Description:

This exciting opportunity exists in our Value-Added Services Team in Cape Town. We are looking for an Operations Manager to build Value-Added Services (VAS) in the business by growing the revenue earned. You will ensure excellence in instore execution and training as well as own communication & training to relevant stakeholders around new product designs, developments and enhancements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain productive relationships within the team and business partners
  • Effectively managing your workload and responding to requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Work closely with legal and safety departments to make sure activities remain compliant
  • Track the implementation of training to store level
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the Stokvels department
  • Report and ensure they understand their earnings
  • Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Store visits to ensure the SOP are being adhered to
  • Ensure effective implementation of training to Frontline Co-ordinators, Money Controllers and store staff to ensure the successful implementation of new products/services
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the planning, development and delivering of Train-the-Trainer training sessions
  • Join weekly meetings to communicate upcoming projects
  • Support operating divisions in respect of VAS
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
  • Conduct Interviews with candidates as Money Controllers together with the regionals/HR
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
  • Interaction with customers service team, fraud and risk teams, helpdesk and training and development teams
  • Communication with the business by means of the Huddle Pack and whatsapp groups for Money Controllers
  • Provide feedback at Management meetings
  • Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization
  • Build relationships with the Clothing Team including Regional and General Managers

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualification in Retail Management or related field
  • Strategy development skills
  • Comfortable with learning and adapting to new systems
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and work long hours were necessary
  • Dynamic and driven
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Intermediate – Advanced Proficiency in MS Office
  • Be able to multi-task
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to build and retain solid relationships
  • Adaptable to change
  • People Orientated
  • 3 – 5 years retail/FMCG experience
  • Instore Operational experience essential
  • Ability to interact with internal & external stakeholders at all levels
  • Training content development & skills planning advantageous
  • Problem solving skills
