Job Description:

The high performing candidate will prospect and close sales leads to sell the business’ products within a specified region to ensure profitability and growth in sales revenue. The candidate will through planning, execution and management of a supportive sales team effectively achieve business objectives by maintaining and/or increasing sales volume within the assigned region, supported by commercial and technical service excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Devise plans and techniques necessary for the achievement of the sales targets
  • Gather market intelligence about competitors and alternative packaging in order to protect market share and products
  • Attend to customer queries and initiating corrective actions
  • Identify emerging markets and market shift while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the Sales team
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Design and Implement a business plan that expands the customer base and ensure its strong presence in the market
  • Recommend product and/or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and Sales
  • Generate reports, for market analysis and customers
  • A solid understanding of the metal packaging market, including trends, technologies, products and players
  • Collaborate with internal teams, especially Manufacturing and Supply Chain to address customer needs
  • Objective setting, coaching and performance monitoring of the Sales team
  • Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient Sales team
  • Ensure full recovery of cost increases through pricing structures
  • Build, promote and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Meet sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements
  • Establish and maintain cordial and effective relationships and collaborations with other departments to address key issues and opportunities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Regular customer and product profitability reports
  • Prepare annual sales budget
  • Plan sales targets in consultation with other departments, i.e. Production and Planning
  • Find new ways of retaining customers
  • Develop a growth plan focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Actively seek market opportunities to stimulate growth and retain market share
  • Manage and co-ordinate specific projects with customers

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant University Degree or Business Management Degree
  • Financial and Commercial exposure
  • FMCG Industry knowledge
  • System and Process Knowledge
  • 5-10 years Business-to-Business Experience, preferably in the Packaging environment
  • Nampak DivFood product knowledge will be an added advantage
  • CIMA would be an added advantage
  • Technical product knowledge will be an added advantage
