Job Description:

An exciting vacancy exists for a National Oncology Manager based at Life Healthcare Head Office in Dunkeld, Rosebank reporting to the Senior Business Manager: New Business. The successful candidate will be integral to executing the growth and expansion strategies of the Oncology business, setting and/or maintaining standards, policies and procedures, efficiency of all processes, as well as driving quality, patient experience and implementation of strategic tactics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigate expansion and diversification of oncology treatments across the cancer continuum of care
  • Together with relevant operations execute tactics to leverage available capacity at radiotherapy and chemotherapy units
  • Implementation and execution of strategic tactics across the full continuum of cancer care aligned with Life Oncology vision
  • Development, refining and execution of oncology outcome measures
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Life Marketing to assist with development of oncology marketing and communication material aimed at promoting Life Oncology whilst supporting patients and their caregivers
  • Research and facilitate the implementation of new diagnostic and treatment options along the cancer continuum of care
  • Plan and execute Work Skills Plan (WSP) and CPD and another in-service in corporation with relevant operations and divisions
  • Investigate and execute accreditation of accreditation processes and programmes (aligned to strategic imperatives) together with relevant operations and other stakeholders
  • Work with procurement and, where required, engage with vendors to help facilitate procurement of new equipment
  • Assist with strategies to improve reporting across the group on treatment types/techniques/codes
  • Standardisation of treatment protocols
  • Development, refining and execution of oncology quality scorecard
  • Identify and assist relevant Life Healthcare teams and divisions with upskilling of staff involved in patient care across the cancer continuum of care
  • Support in developing and implementing a value proposition for Life Oncology employees
  • Provide subject matter expertise in development of patient education and information tools and tactics across diverse channels, for example printed, digital
  • Ensuring legal compliance within the units to DOH e.g.: radiation medicals
  • Mentoring and providing support to the units and when required performing verification audits for oncology related BSI including radiotherapy

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience, both operational and strategic, in managing an Oncology portfolio and/or division
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Verbal & written communication and presentation
  • Customer responsiveness
  • Proven track record of performance in an oncology environment, including driving growth, quality, patient, and other stakeholder experience
  • At least 5-7 years in a management role in an Oncology unit and/or business

  • Degree in Radiography and Registration with HPCSA or Oncology-Trained Registered Nurse
