Job Description:

Assisting with communication and processing of workers compensation claims

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check payroll regularly for errors and anomalies and correct where necessary
  • Ensure filing is done
  • Create employee files for new engagements
  • Process staff card applications
  • Receive payroll input via portal or manually
  • Medical aid reconciliations for assigned payroll
  • Maintain Health4Me adjustments list
  • Complete the Non – Compliance tracker
  • Provide telephonic support in respect of payroll queries
  • Verify new employees’ information and position details before payroll calculation
  • Import overtime captured on the portal into payroll and capture exceptions manually
  • HR Validate & Final Recruit new employees on-boarded via the portal
  • Processing Department of Labor forms (UI19, UI2.7 and salary schedule) on request for terminations and employees going on maternity
  • Update employee records with changes to personal details and bank details
  • Validate portal payroll information accurately on the system for promotions, transfers and terminations
  • Understanding and following payroll procedures and payroll related forms

Job Requirements:

  • Analytical thinking
  • Able to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Computer skills, intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of full payroll function, including capturing payroll, checking remuneration, reconciling the payroll, backups/ rollover, manual calculations
  • Attention to detail and the ability to question information
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Large payroll experience (On average 1200 Phadimas per Payroll administrator, +/- 60 terms per month, +/- 30 promotions per month)
  • Knowledge of labour legislation and tax
  • The ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Basic employee benefit administration and processes
  • Pay Space experience
  • Intermediate payroll knowledge
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Payroll Certificate/ Diploma
  • Above average numerical ability
  • Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
  • 2-3 years payroll administration experience
